APPLIANCE WIRING MATERIAL
Style 2462 Multiple-conductor cable using non-integral jacket.
Rating 60 deg C, 300 Vac, FT2 flame.
Conductor 24 AWG – 10 AWG, stranded.
Insulation CONSTRUCTION A and C – Extruded PVC, 15 mils minimum average thickness, 13 mils minimum thickness at any point. CONSTRUCTION B – Extruded PVC, 30 mils minimum average thickness, 27 mils minimum thickness at any point.
Assembly CONSTRUCTION A and C – two to seven insulated conductors, same as Type SVT. CONSTRUCTION B – two to nine insulated conductors, same as Type SJT. All construction – Different conductor sizes may be employed in one cord, no polarity identification required.
Shield Optional – One or more of the individually insulated conductors may be shielded or groups of individually insulated conductors may be shielded. Shielding over conductor shall consist of 36 AWG – 30 AWG tinned or untinned copper strands applied as a wrap or braid.
Jacket CONSTRUCTION A and B – Extruded PVC, 30 mils minimum average thickness, 24 mils minimum thickness at any point. Construction C – Extruded PVC.
