SCC Attends Connecticut District Export Council Luncheon in Washington DC
SCC’s Kim Bowen, along with other prominent aerospace manufacturers that supply Pratt and Whitney, were invited to a luncheon on Capital Hill, Washington D.C., hosted by the Connecticut District Export Council (CT DEC), in celebration of their new Geared Turbofan Engine, on Wednesday July 19th. In attendance, amongst others, were Bob Leduc, President of Pratt and Whitney along with many prominent leaders within the Pratt and Whitney organization, Congressman Joe Courtney, Congressman John Larson and Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty.
Pratt & Whitney, a division of United Technologies Corp., displayed its PurePower® Geared Turbofan, the revolutionary new engine platform that is more fuel and cost efficient. This new engine program has proven to be extraordinarily popular around the world with more than 8,000 engines on orders, driving continued U.S. leadership in technology-led manufacturing, U.S. exports, and growing U.S. jobs and investment.
The engine was on display on South Capitol Street between C and D Streets SE.
